On December 8, 1979, the band performed as part of a program titled "A Tribute to Benny Goodman" (featuring Howard Klug on clarinet). The extent of the band's involvement in the concert is not clear.
In April, 1980, the band appeared as a guest at the Collegiate Jazz Festival at Notre Dame. The concert was recorded, and some or all of the material was released in 1982 as Closeout (rereleased in 1988 as Déjà Vu). (Additional details on this recording may be found in "The Albums" section.)
